B A S I C S //
Do you have a magical/Pagan name? Yes, Rowan
What does it mean? I think the word itself is quite easy to interrupt, as for what it means to me I can’t really say.
How did you find Paganism? The church I grew up with did nothing for me so I searched for a new religion/spirituality and found my practice.
How long have you been practicing? 7 years
Solitary or group practitioner? Solitary, and it suites me fine.
What is your path? Polytheistic Pluralism
Are you out of the broom closet? To my family, and some friends.
D E I T Y //
Who is your patron God? Seth
Who is your patron Goddess? Hecate
What Gods do you worship? the path of pluralism leads me on many crossroads (fitting for a devotee of Hecate), and so I find myself drawn to many pantheons. Egyptian, Greek, and Norse have my main attentions.
Do you fear darkly aspected Gods/Goddess, or rather respect them? I don’t fear the deities with generally ‘dark’ aspects. I rather respect them, as they should be respected; but I am not blind to their power, and I would not cross my patrons even on their good days. Seth especially is not easily forgiving.
Do you worship the Christian God? I do not worship the christian god, so much as I respect them and their values/wrath/
Do you ever worship animals? I don’t. From time to time I seek guidance from my totems or look to animalistic deities/associated spirits. (Finir, Munnin and Hunnin, Cerebrus)
Or plants? I see plants as more of a way to commune with the earth and as being to befriend rather than as beings to be worshiped.
N A T U R E //
Do you regularly commune with nature? Not as often as I’d like to. Living where I do, it is difficult.
Ever walked barefoot in the woods? Yes, multiple times. I have walked barefoot in many places. I have tough soles.
Taken a camping trip just to talk to nature? I have in the past, but there have not been many people willing to go with me these days.
Describe the moment you felt closest to Mother Earth? One day I wadded against the current of a river for three miles in my bare feet with my pants rolled to my knees and my dog by my side. I found a cat skull.
Do you have a familiar? At the moment no. My cat Yoko who lives with my mother at the moment was a very good familiar when we were together, and before her my other cat Thatcher helped with my magic.
Have you ever called upon the powers of an animal in ritual? Occasionally.
Or a plant? No
Do you hug trees? Yes.
Give them gifts? On occasion i will speak with them, but I’m not in a habit of giving gifts.
What is your favourite flower to work with? I have most often worked with rose, but tulip is also a favourite.
What is your favourite tree to work with? I don’t really work with trees very often, but my staff is made of driftwood and various fruits (from trees) are sometimes used in my offerings. (Carved apples on samhain for example.)
W H E E L . O F . T H E . Y E A R //
What is your favourite holiday? Samhain
What is your least favourite holiday? Ostara
Have you ever held a ritual on a holiday? On Samhain I pay head to my ancestors, on Lammas (which coincides with my birth) I cook a meal for my family and bake soul cakes which everyone (including my cats) eat.
Ever taken a day off work to celebrate a Pagan holiday? No.
Do you celebrate Yule on the 21 rather than the 25? The 21st is the day I burn my Yule log, but on the 25th the rest of my family celebrates Christmas and I celebrate with them.
Have you ever felt the veil thin? Yes, but only in small spurts. Often in the corner of my eye or especially on the night of a full moon.
Ever danced the Maypole? Once when I was a child, and I would very much like to do it again. (Of course it meant something vastly different when I was just a girl.
Know what the Maypole symbolizes? Yes.
How do you usually celebrate the Pagan holidays? Eggs on Ostara, Feast on Lammas, Carved apples and Pumpkins on Samhain, Holly crowns and candles on Yule, etc etc…

Do you use Tarot? Yes
Do you use runes? Yes, but not as often as I use my tarot cards.
Do you use a pendulum? No
Do you use dowsing rods? No.
Do you use Astrology? Not as a form of Divination.
Any other form of divination? Bibliomancy, Palmistry, Numerology, Bone casting, Sand writing, Aeromancy.
S P E L L S //
What was the first spell you did? The first I can remember (as it was a while ago), was a protection spell for Thatcher. I placed a charm on his collar so that he would always find his way home to me.
What was the latest? A good luck sachet.
Ever done a love spell? Once. It worked but she is long gone. I am grateful that the universe saw me worthy of her, but in the end I fucked it up.
A job spell? No.
A healing spell? As a general rule I only do healing spells for others with their express permission. I have yet to cast one for myself, and only once for my mother’s friend before she passed. (more for peace of mind than physical aliment.)
What was the most powerful spell you’ve ever performed? Not sure.
What deities do you usually call on? I don’t usually call any deities, but the few I have prayed to for aid or wisdom include Hecate, Seth, Odin, and once or twice Thor, Loki, and Artemis.

Do you believe in Vampires?
To the above questions: There is a lot of lore and a lot of myth on many things. I do not believe that they are present on the pysical plane of our world, but rather might exist in the spiritual plane or another realm entirely. (If there is an infinite number of universes than in one it must be so)
Ever “seen” any of the above? No
Ever talked to any of the above? No
Do you have one of them as a personal guardian? No, but I have been guided by dragons in my dreams.
R A N D O M //
Do you see a rabbit, a man or a woman in the moon? None, I see the moon as it’s own entity entirely. More push and pull, and light than a sentience.
Own a cat? Thatcher and Yoko.
When you meditate, what does your happy place look like? sitting in the mouth of a river as it flows into the great lake at my cottage.
Do you work with Chakras? Frequently in meditation. (psst look at the name of my blog.)
Do you believe in past lives? Yes. I have often felt as though I was an eagle in my last life.
If so, describe a few briefly: The Eagle is really the only one that sticks.
Do you believe in soul mates? Yes, but not strictly in the romantic sense. Sort of like the concept of T’hy’la in Star Trek; a soul mate can be a brother, a sister, a lover, a mother, or anyone whose soul connects with yours on a higher level. For example, I would consider my mother to be a soulmate.
Do you have a spirit guide? Crows, deer, and wolves have often leaded me through life.
Is it always love and light? By no means is it always happy. I have never held the illusion that the world, the gods, and humanity cannot be wrathful. Though I try to stay as peaceful as possible.
